Birchbark Call For Expressions Of Interest 2021-2022

The Birchbark Discovery Centre is seeking to intake students from Grades 1 to 6 for the 2021-2022 school year. The multi-age program is expanding to two classrooms next year - one for Grades 1-3 and one for Grades 4-6. Birchbark is a community-based, alternative education program based at Mildred Hall School. Its goal is to foster a diverse class of learners who benefit from self-directed, discovery and inquiry-based learning. Although the program has its own classroom at Mildred Hall School, much of the learning takes place in the natural environment.

If you are interested in enrolling your child in this program, please email Brendan Callas at brendan.callas@yk1.nt.ca by 3:00 p.m. on June 11, 2021. Please include your child’s name, current school, and what grade they will be entering in the fall. Candidates who have been accepted into the program will be notified as soon as possible.
