EBS at NJ
At NJ, we practice Effective Behaviour Supports (EBS). This is a school-wide approach to teaching positive student behaviour and fostering a safe and caring environment.
We have identified 4 positive social behaviours, or values, that form the foundation of our school-wide behaviour expectations. They are 1) have pride; 2) act respectfully; 3) work cooperatively; and 4) play safely. We expect all students and staff to behave in a manner that reflects these basic qualities.
When students are seen displaying one or more of these expectations, they earn a PAW. Each week, we count the number of PAWS that each class has collected and we keep a running total of PAWS earned throughout the school. Each term we work towards a goal and when we collect that many PAWS we have a school-wide celebration!
